“Back to school” is a time that conjures up many emotions. Younger children see it as a time of change and excitement mixed with trepidation of new challenges ahead.

Elephants don’t do hills. Elephants “studiously try to avoid sloped terrain” (“Elephant’s don’t do hills, scientists reveal”, 2006), which makes a ton of sense given their size. The calorie cost of every vertical meter climbed is around twenty-five hundred times the cost of level walking.
I wasn’t built for speed. Physically. I’ve been accused of speaking quickly (I don’t get it) but have never really threatened any land speed records. After 37 years on this Earth I am willing to accept that I am built more for endurance.
I’m officially tired of winter. Here we are, at the end of February and most of the USA is stuck in what is being called “The Siberian Express.”
I had never driven to work before I joined Blue Elephant – I had always been a (somewhat) happy bus commuter. The bus gets a bad rap versus the train, but from where I lived it was a pretty simple commute.
With my last thought piece of the year (except for our year-end letter), I thought it is a good time to put the year in perspective. It was a pretty amazing year for me and for Blue Elephant.
Do you ever find yourself watching financial TV as if it were a sporting event? I do. No matter how hard I try not to, I get caught up at times. The media machine is amazing. Stocks are down 1% today?
